Description

Vontron ULP21‑4040 RO Membrane – Ultra‑Low Pressure 4″×40″

The Vontron ULP21‑4040 RO Membrane is part of Vontron’s ULP (Ultra–Low-Pressure) series, designed for surface water, underground water, or municipal feed with TDS < 2,000 ppm. This industrial-grade membrane offers high performance at significantly reduced pressure compared to standard low‑pressure membranes. The 4″ diameter × 40″ length format ensures compatibility with standard vessels, making it suited for commercial, light‑industrial, and large domestic RO systems.

Key Features

  • Ultra‑low pressure operation, reducing pump and infrastructure costs.
  • Stable salt rejection ~99% (minimum ~98.5%) under test conditions.
  • Typical permeate flow ~2,400–2,600 GPD (~9–10 m³/day) in a standard 4040 element.
  • Suitable feed water: TDS < 2,000 ppm NaCl equivalents.
  • Compact “4040” size fits many existing RO systems for easier retrofits.

Why Choose the Vontron ULP21‑4040 RO Membrane?

If you’re looking for a high‑capacity membrane with lower energy consumption, the ULP21‑4040 is an excellent choice. Because it runs at lower pressure while still delivering near‑99% salt rejection and good flow rates, you reduce operating cost and extend component life. Moreover, its standard 4″×40″ size means it works in many existing systems without major modifications — making it ideal for upgrades, commercial installations or demanding domestic setups.

Installation & Maintenance Tips

  1. Ensure proper pre‑treatment: feed water SDI ≤ 5, free chlorine < 0.1 ppm, and temperature under 45 °C.
  2. On first use, flush the new membrane: run ~15‑25 minutes at low pressure, then ~60‑90 minutes at full design pressure and discard initial permeate.
  3. Monitor key parameters: permeate flow, salt rejection, and differential pressure — a drop may indicate fouling or scaling.
  4. Clean according to manufacturer guidelines; observe pH and temperature limits.
  5. For storage, keep the membrane wet or in a 1% sodium bisulfite solution if not in immediate use.
