This system removes unwanted particles from your home’s water supply, ensuring cleaner, healthier water for all domestic uses.
Specifications
- Big Blues: Pre-built on a single stand unit for easy installation and mobility; can be positioned on the ground or mounted on a wall for added convenience.
- Water Quality: Not suitable for removing bacteria and microorganisms. If water quality in your area is a concern, consult our sales agents for tailored solutions.
- Maintenance: Carbon block and sediment filters should be replaced every 3-6 months, depending on the quality of the source water. Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of the system.
- Limitations: This system does not remove minerals, pesticides, or lime; thus, water may appear cloudy or tinted and may not come out crystal clear.
- Flow Rate: Filters at a peak flow rate of 2400 liters per hour, making it efficient for even larger households.
- Pressure: The filter housings have a maximum operating pressure of 90 psi. If you suspect that your water pressure exceeds 80 psi, a pressure regulator must be installed prior to the filter housing to prevent damage. It is recommended that the regulator be set at 70 psi or less to ensure system longevity.
- Temperature: Protect the filter housing from freezing conditions, as colder temperatures can result in cracks and overall damage to the unit.
Filtration Stages
First & Third Stage: Polypropylene Sediment Removal Filters
These filters are crafted specifically for domestic water filtration, effectively removing sediments such as rust, mud, and dust from municipal and rainwater supplies. Constructed from three layers of heat-melted polypropylene, these filters have a longer service life compared to single-layer options. Properly engineered to reduce filtering resistance, they enhance water flow while providing excellent filtration efficiency. If the RO system lacks a sediment filter, larger particles and microorganisms may clog the RO membrane, shortening its lifespan and negatively impacting water quality.
Function:
The polypropylene cartridge serves to separate substances from the liquid. It acts as a media through which water flows, facilitating the removal of sediment and preventing clogging. The performance of this filtration stage directly affects the water quality and the longevity of subsequent stages.
Second Stage: Activated Carbon Block Filter
Activated carbon block filters are renowned for their ability to adsorb chemical impurities and contaminants in drinking water. They effectively eliminate chlorine, odor, taste, and color, making them vital to any serious water filtration system. The solid carbon block structure enhances performance by increasing contact time with the water, thus improving pollutant removal efficiency.
Function:
The primary function of an activated carbon block filter is to adsorb and trap contaminants, ensuring the water is free from unpleasant tastes and odors. They are particularly effective in removing chlorine, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and other harmful chemicals, providing you with cleaner drinking water.
Advanced Considerations
- Custom Specifications: When selecting a filtration system, consider factors such as water source, contaminants of concern, and household water demand. Customization options are available for carbon block filters to meet specific needs.
- Installation: Professional in-house installation is available upon request to ensure optimal setup and operation.
