Description
E-MEM 8040 Industrial RO Membrane – High-Flux 8″×40″ Element
The E-MEM 8040 Industrial RO Membrane is a premium aromatic polyamide composite element designed for high-performance industrial and commercial water systems. It offers exceptionally high flux and salt-rejection while operating at lower pressure requirements. It’s built to treat brackish water and municipal sources with conductivity and “dissolved solids” levels up to ~8000 ppm.
Because it’s designed for durability and efficiency, it helps reduce pump and energy costs while delivering consistent permeate quality.
Key Features
- High Salt Rejection: Delivers ≥99% salt rejection under specified conditions.
- Low Pressure Requirement: Cuts operating cost thanks to lower feed-pressure demand—helping system economy.
- Large Active Area: Enables higher daily output from each element; suitable for industrial scale up.
- Broad Water Source Compatibility: Suitable for surface water, groundwater, municipal supply and brackish feed up to 8 000 ppm TDS.
- Robust Operating Limits: Maximum feed-pressure ≈4.14 MPa (600 psi), max feed-temperature ~45 °C, free-chlorine <0.1 ppm, SDI ≤ 5.
Technical Specifications
- Membrane size: 8″ diameter × 40″ length (8040)
- Typical active area: ~37 m² (400 ft²) for model 8040.
- Max operating pressure: 600 psi (~4.14 MPa)
- Max feed water temperature: 45 °C
- Max feed SDI: 5
- Feed free chlorine maximum: <0.1 ppm
Why Choose the E-MEM 8040 Industrial RO Membrane?
If you oversee a commercial or industrial water-treatment system, the E-MEM 8040 offers strong performance with cost-effective operation. Because it works at lower pressure while maintaining high flux and rejection, you’ll benefit from lower pump and infrastructure costs. In addition, the wide source-water compatibility means you can deploy it in many settings—from municipal feed, borehole water, to brackish water reuse. Moreover, its large area and robust build reduce downtime and extend service intervals.
Installation & Maintenance Tips
- Ensure feed water meets pre-treatment requirements: SDI ≤ 5, free-chlorine <0.1 ppm.
- On initial startup, flush new elements at low pressure for ~15-25 minutes, then at full design pressure for ~60-90 minutes.
- Monitor differential pressure, permeate conductivity, and flow rate—rising values may indicate fouling or scaling.
- Clean the membrane as per the manufacturer’s chemical-cleaning guidance (pH and temperature limits).
- Store spare elements wet or in 1% sodium bisulfite solution if unused for an extended period.
